Film, photograph, report daily route, road, common events and exceptional meetings.
The expedition aims to shift the sight, to go in front of meetings and discuss with public issues addressed at the Conference. According to the COP-15: “The Danish Government’s goal is to enter
into a binding global climate agreement at the United Nations Conference in Copenhagen. The agreement will apply to the period after 2012”. From 2009 December 7 to 18, should be taken, by some,
decisions that affect us all. Twelve years after Kyoto, CDG 2 CPH will be an opportunity for Guillaume Dimanche to get a photographic and film subjective view through these issues at a specific
time that precedes and opens Copenhagen 2009.
Connecting tow locations by bike (Paris to Copenhagen), 1300 kilometers apart, by road in exactly 15 days (from November 22 to December 6, 2009), seeks a humble symbol, positionning itself at
odds with the commonly used methods, such as those probably favored by the participants of the conference in Copenhagen.
Guilaume Dimanche will record his trip, he will take photos “Le spectacle du quotidien» (Daily’s scenery)”. Each day, around 6 pm, three photos and a video of 2 minutes minutes will be uploaded.
After the trip, film(s) and photographs will be broadcast and exhibit in Den Haag (Netherland) in February and Copenhagen in March. In collaboration with Thierry Geoffroy, «infiltrated» artist,
instigator of the Emergency Room format, the arrival of Guillaume Dimanche in Copenhagen Sunday, December 6 will be the start of various policy and artistic actions organized in Copenhagen during
the conference. The arrival at the airport is organized as an artistic event. It takes place the day before the opening of the COP15, when speakers and participants conference will land. An
appointment is given to all who wish at Greve train Station at 12am, a city 30km from Copenhagen, to join Guillaume Dimanche to ride with him the last kilometers from the CPH Copenhagen
Airport.
The artistic production end of this course is structured around two axes: images creation of documentaries and photographic and video works.
Produce a video.
Guillaume Dimanche will record the trip, interviews, landscapes, architecture, polluters, man and industry. Every day will be filmed the road, the weather, the landscape and the testimony of
citizens about their personal environmental implication, of their institutions and local associations, national political consciousness of environmental issues.
A video selection of images of the day, will be posted daily (around 8pm) on the blog (http://cdg2cph.over-blog.com/) to account for the day. To conclude and report on the trip after arrival in
Copenhagen, all videos will be projected onto a screen located on the Town Hall Square, in collaboration with the Thierry Geoffoy. The final documentary film (52 ‘) will be sequenced into three
main parts: the road, the landscape natural, agricultural, urban and industrial, and interviews. The filmed course will demonstrate the effort, weather, landscapes crossed and meetings
involved.
To conduct a photographic production.
As an artist, Guillaume Dimanche will conduct a series of photographs entitled CDG 2 CPH. Realization of a triptych whose daily model will also be presented on the blog and affiliates
websites. These «photographic records» bear witness of crossed countries.
Guillaume Dimanche successively will shoot the sky, the road ahead, the adjacent perpendicular landscape to propose a daily triptych. This photographic work will be, at the end of the trip, the
subject of several exhibitions in February in Den Haag and March in Copenhagen (still expecting location in Fnace, Belgium and Germany).
