Born 1943, Ivan Dimov graduated the Academy of Fine Arts in 1970 and today he lives and works in Sofia, Bulgaria. His works impress with the lightness of space they emanate. The native house, village, people and birds, the apple of sin and life, the old peasant with the child, morning and day, spring and summer, trees and animals: the whole universe has broken into pieces floating in space. A strange space, which is overcrowded at times, and at others appears enigmatically empty. Ivan Dimov manages to gather piece by piece what time and memory have preserved and arranges them into a new universe in which silence, nostalgia, human kindness, light and hope fill the space of the canvas.
